Teacher Training and Support
The Press Pass NYC Journalism Adviser Fellowship aims to create sustainable, impactful student journalism programs in NYC schools. By equipping teachers with essential skills, resources, and ongoing support, plus a stipend, the program fosters media literacy, student leadership, and community engagement through journalism. Educators will leave the program empowered to guide their students in producing meaningful, high-quality news publications that reflect and serve their school communities.

Professional Development
Our journalism adviser professional development events bring educators throughout the city together, virtually and in person, to learn from experts and each other about all aspects of student news advising.

Free Resources
Journalism for All “Student Media Production” Module: This free curriculum was developed by Press Pass NYC for the Journalism for All curriculum initiative in New York City. It builds on what we’ve learned over years of working with NYC educators and students to start and sustain student newspapers and news sites. The curriculum is shared for educational purposes only. Please do not reproduce, adapt, or distribute it without explicit written permission.

Student Journalism Leaders Fellowship
By equipping students with the tools of engagement journalism and fostering leadership, the semester-long Student Journalism Leaders Fellowship Program will ensure that student newspapers become essential, thriving platforms for school communities.

Editor Bootcamp
Our Student Editor Bootcamp is an intensive, week-long summer program designed to equip aspiring student newsroom leaders with the skills, confidence, and strategic vision they need to build and lead a successful school newspaper or news site.

Journalism Workshops
The Jim Dwyer Student Journalism Workshop Series aims to equip high school students with essential journalism skills, foster media literacy, and inspire the next generation of ethical and engaged reporters. Through monthly webinars and workshops, students are welcome to explore various aspects of journalism and learn from industry professionals.
