Noreen Fitzgerald-Makar

Noreen Fitzgerald-Makar, CJE, is the journalism teacher at Thomas A. Edison CTE High School where she has worked since 2007. Since 2011, she has advised The Edison Light, turning it from a quarterly print paper into a digital publication. She works as a mentor for the Journalism for All and Youth Journalism Coalition initiatives in New York City. In May 2024, Fitzgerald-Makar received the Robert Greenman Award for Excellence in Journalism Teaching and Advising from Society of Professional Journalists, NYC Chapter.
