Erin Schneider

With over a decade of experience in journalism education and media consultancy, Erin Schneider advises an award-winning journalism program at Redwood High School in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here, she nurtures budding journalists, overseeing the creation of the student newspaper, website, podcast, and social media channels. Erin is a recognized figure in the educational community, frequently sharing her insights on AI's responsible use in journalism classrooms and the importance of media literacy at national and local conventions.

Before teaching, Erin contributed her talents to a daily Bay Area newspaper, embraced diverse cultures through extensive travel, worked as a social media and SEO intern for a publishing company and volunteered at international schools—experiences that now enrich her teaching approach. With her consultancy, Journalism Resource Network, she empowers schools, non-profits, and new journalism educators to craft meaningful, real-world media programs.

Erin holds a Master's degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's in Journalism from Central Michigan University, where she worked as a student manager for the university’s newspaper.
