Deborah Porterfield

Deborah Porterfield, CJE, advises the Bronx River News, an online school newspaper that provides a voice for a diverse student body. As a model teacher and special education chair, Deborah has worked to create a staff culture where students with different needs, interests and abilities have a voice. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as an editor and writer at news outlets in Georgia, Florida and New York.
