Nathalie Nieves

Nathalie Nieves is a field producer for CBS News based in NYC. She has three years working for CBS News with stints on the National and Foreign desks. Prior to joining CBS News in 2018, Nathalie worked for The New York Times, where she produced Facebook Lives, ran NYT Politics social media accounts, and wrote for The New York Times’ Washington DC bureau. She also worked as an index compiler for The New York Times based in NYC. Nathalie worked on the 2015 Oscar-nominated documentary Cartel Land as a subtitler and translator from Spanish to English. She attended CUNY Queens College in New York City where she obtained a BA and MA in English Literature. Nathalie was the proud recipient of the 2020 inaugural National Association of Hispanic Journalists Ana Real Scholarship. Outside of CBS News, she was a 2020 fellow of the International Women in Media Foundation’s Gwen Ifill Mentorship program, 2020 Adelante reporting trip to El Salvador (where she went through hostile environment training and learned to produce international stories) and formed part of the third cohort of Poynter’s 2020 Leadership Academy for Women in Media. She is currently the president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ New York Chapter.
