Akithma Moraes

Akithma Moraes is a senior in the International Baccalaureate program at Curtis High School, where she is the editor-in-chief of her school’s newspaper, The Curtis Log. A couple of months ago, Akithma wrote an article about the Department of Education’s updated dress code guidelines and its impact on schools returning from the pandemic, which the Staten Island Advance published. When Akithma is not analyzing how social interactions impact policies, she is either trying out a new genre of literature or busy predicting the end of the Netflix shows she’s binging.
